APISearch Console
Google Search Console MCP. Your Search Console in Claude Code, Cursor or your own AI assistant, without a Google Cloud project.
The open-source Search Console MCP servers want a Google Cloud project, an OAuth client and a process on your own computer, and you keep them working yourself. Here you connect Search Console once in MarketingTracer, paste one address and one key into your assistant, and ask. Your GA4, the SEO scan, your rankings and what ChatGPT says about you come along in the same conversation.

No setup at Google
Connect Search Console once, in MarketingTracer.
16 months of data
Clicks, impressions, CTR and position.
More than Search Console
GA4, the scan, rankings and AI answers too.
All your sites
One key for every site in your account.
Search Console MCP tools, and what each one answers
You do not have to name a tool. You ask the question; the assistant picks the tool and fills in the filters.
| MCP tool | What it answers |
|---|---|
get_search_console | Clicks, impressions, CTR and position by query, page, country, device, date or search appearance. Filters on query and page (contains, regex and their opposites), position, clicks and impressions. The filtering happens at Google, so you get the rows you asked for. Compare with the previous period or last year. |
page_brief | One page at once: the keywords it ranks for, whether they rise or fall, its traffic in GA4 and its issues from the SEO scan. |
diagnose_traffic_drop | Which pages lost the clicks between two periods, and whether anything changed on those pages. |
find_opportunities | The pages worth fixing first, weighed against real search demand. |
find_content_gaps | Queries you already show up for and do not win yet. |
find_cannibalization | Queries where two or more of your own pages compete. |
find_content_decay | Pages that lose a little every month. |
cluster_performance | How each section of the site does, per URL folder. |
get_analytics | Google Analytics 4: sessions, users, conversions and revenue, for the site or one page. |
Every tool reads. Nothing in your account, your Search Console or your site can be changed through the MCP.
One real question, the call and the answer
Asked about one of our own sites: "Which queries are on page one or two but get no clicks?" The assistant calls:
get_search_console {
"site_id": "YOUR_SITE_ID",
"dimensions": ["query"],
"position_min": 4,
"position_max": 20,
"sort_by": "impressions",
"limit": 2
}
and gets, for the last 30 days, shortened where you see …:
{
"range": {"from": "2026-09-27", "to": "2026-10-27"},
"rows": [
{"query": "above the fold", "clicks": 0, "impressions": 2087, "ctr": 0, "position": 14.2},
{"query": "serp tracking", "clicks": 0, "impressions": 2053, "ctr": 0, "position": 19}
],
"total_rows": 3275,
"notes": ["Search Console data lags roughly 3 days; the most recent days may be incomplete.", …],
…
}
Position 14, more than 2,000 impressions and not one click: that is the one to look at first. The assistant goes on with page_brief to see which page ranks there and what its title promises.
Set up the Search Console MCP in two minutes
- Connect Search Console (and GA4, if you want the visits) to your site in MarketingTracer.
- Open the MCP page in the app and copy your personal API key.
- Add the server to your assistant. In Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http marketingtracer https://app.marketingtracer.com/rest/mcp/server \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
In Cursor and other clients that read an mcpServers file:
{
"mcpServers": {
"marketingtracer": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://app.marketingtracer.com/rest/mcp/server",
"headers": {"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"}
}
}
}
Then ask about one of your sites by name; the assistant finds its site_id with list_sites.
"Why did clicks drop last month?"
The question your boss or your client asks on a Monday. The assistant compares the two periods, names the pages that lost the clicks and checks whether something changed on them, like a title, a noindex or a redirect. You answer with the page and the cause, instead of with "Google moves things around".
Search Console next to GA4, rankings and ChatGPT
Ask "did the pages that lost clicks also lose revenue?" and you get both numbers in one answer. The same conversation can read your Rank tracker positions and whether ChatGPT names you. All the combinations are on the SEO MCP page.
Search Console of every client. One connection.
Connect each client's Search Console once in your account, and your assistant can read all of them with one key, without a Google login per client. On a white-label dashboard the MCP server runs on your own domain. The whole dashboard is white label: your domain, logo and colours, and team roles that set which modules each role sees.

What is a Google Search Console MCP?
An MCP server that lets an AI assistant read your Search Console data. You ask a question in plain language and the assistant fetches the clicks, queries and pages it needs to answer it.
Is there an official Search Console MCP from Google?
No. Google has one for Google Analytics; for Search Console there is none. The Search Console MCPs you find are open-source projects you run on your own computer, or hosted connectors from data tools.
How is this different from mcp-gsc?
mcp-gsc runs on your own computer with your own Google Cloud credentials, and it can also inspect URLs and manage sitemaps. The MarketingTracer Search Console MCP is hosted and reads through the Search Console connection you already have in MarketingTracer. It adds GA4, the SEO scan, your rankings and AI answers in the same assistant.
Do I need a Google Cloud project?
No. You connect Search Console in MarketingTracer with your Google login, as you would for the dashboard. The MCP reads through that connection.
Which assistants work with it?
Claude Code, Cursor and other assistants where you can add a header with the key. In the Claude app that works where Add custom connector shows request headers. ChatGPT only connects to MCP servers with a sign-in flow, so it does not work there yet.
Can it inspect URLs or submit sitemaps?
No. The MCP reads the performance data: clicks, impressions, CTR and position. Why a page is not indexed comes from the SEO scan, through get_scan.
Does the assistant make up numbers?
Not from these tools. They return what Search Console returns, and when Search Console is not connected for a site, the tool says so and gives no numbers. Your assistant shows each tool call, so you can check a figure that surprises you.
What does it cost?
The MCP costs nothing extra; it is part of every plan. Prices are on the pricing page.
